At LRP Media Group we are continually striving to create a challenging and cooperative work environment that encourages innovation. Our employees are smart, passionate, hard-working and accomplished professionals who appreciate a healthy balance of work and personal responsibilities. Many of our people have been with us for over 10 years and counting!
Ken and Jana Kahn and our LRP Media Group family believe strongly in giving back to the communities we live in, and our biggest passion as a business leader is educating tomorrow’s leaders. We also encourage employees to find their own passions and give back to their favorite community service organizations and share their successes with their coworkers.
If you’re wondering what the “LR” stands for in LRP … mystery solved! Our President and Founder Ken Kahn graduated from Cornell’s prestigious ILR School before attending Harvard Law School and has referred to this part of his education as “his rock.” Our first publications were about Labor Relations and what started it all. In 2007, Cornell University announced the creation of the Kenneth F. Kahn ILR ’69 Deanship of the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. At the time, Ken’s gift to endow the deanship was the largest from a donor in the school’s history.
Along with empowering K-12 educators and administrators in their careers through our professional development products, we also believe in joining organizations like The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County to support local schools. This philanthropic partner of our home office’s school district facilitates student achievement by supporting high-quality public education through corporate partnerships, grants, events, and public awareness. LRP helps by funding innovative projects and awards that directly impact today’s students to become tomorrow’s leaders in our community.
High Point University in North Carolina describes itself as the Premier Life Skills University and impressed the Kahns with their experiential learning programs that arm students with skills that businesses are looking for. The university’s call to action is simple and profound: Choose to be extraordinary!
The Kenneth F. and Jana S. Kahn Extraordinary Staff Award endowment was established in 2018 by the Kahn Family and LRP’s University Business Magazine to annually honor two HPU employees who provide dedicated service to the campus community and live out the university’s mission to provide students with an extraordinary education in an inspiring environment with caring people.
Events and Expos are a large part of LRP’s business today and we see the need for experiential learning programs at universities that allow students the ability to get best-in-class experience to use in future jobs. The Jana and Ken Kahn Hotel serves as a real-world learning lab for students studying event management, sports management, hospitality management and more. The hotel has 30 residential rooms, a fine-dining restaurant and meeting space.
