Whether you are an administrator providing paraeducator
staff development for your district or a paraeducator in need of
individual training, DirectSTEP is your training solution.
The Highly Qualified Paraeducator:
A Comprehensive eLearning Curriculum for All Education Paraprofessionals
Developed by Dr. Mary Lasater
The Highly Qualified Paraeducator eLearning curriculum can serve as your district's "highly qualified" paraeducator program or as your solution for on-going professional development as required under NCLB. Paraeducators who successfully complete this eLearning
curriculum will not only be able to assist in the instruction
of reading, writing and math, but will meet a rigorous standard
of quality in every critical work function as a "highly qualified"
paraeducator.
Each of the 8 units offers interactive instruction
aligned with the national standards for paraeducators — Critical
Work Functions (CFW) — developed by the Education Training Voluntary
Partnership through the National Skill Standards Board. You may purchase the
entire curriculum, a unit, or an individual module. Each module
